Cooney, Watson & Associates Rebranding

Cooney, Watson & Associates, Inc., one of New Mexico’s oldest and most established public relations and marketing firms, announced today that after nearly 30 years in business it is changing its name to CWA Strategic Communications (CWA) to more closely reflect its business focus.

Founded in 1986 as a full-service public relations, advertising and marketing agency, Albuquerque-based CWA was established to focus on issues and projects that have a positive impact on the quality of life for the people, businesses and families of New Mexico.

CWA has led public and community relations efforts for a number of memorable and important community projects over the years, including the Big-I Interchange Reconstruction Project, the Paseo del Norte/I-25 Interchange Reconstruction Project, the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority’s “Water by the Numbers” campaign and the General Obligation Bond for Higher Education campaigns in 2012 and 2014. In addition, the agency has created and implemented a number of long-term campaigns for the New Mexico Department of Health, including the Family Infant Toddler Program.

“Our new brand is a reflection of the integrated approaches we offer our clients, as well as the continuing evolution of our agency for nearly three decades,” said CWA Strategic Communications President Patti Watson. “The way people communicate and consume messages and media has become much more diverse. Because of this, audiences are becoming increasingly fragmented, requiring a more strategic and integrated approach to reach and influence them,” continued Watson.

With the rollout of a new name and logo, CWA Strategic Communications will also be launching a redesigned website. www.cwastrategic.com, and social media presence in the coming weeks. The firm will utilize integrated marketing strategies that combine market research, public relations and advertising, crafting relevant messages delivered through the use of traditional and digital media.

“The communications landscape has changed since we first opened our doors and we are working to remain in step with an ever-changing environment. We appreciate the continued support of our clients and look forward to a bright future,” Watson said.
